I would cite the largest study of breech deliveries (1,456 term breech presentations) in the English literature. 274 were nullparas: 175 received epidural and 98 did not. Cesarean section rates were 53% and 20% respectively.

It's the largest study OK but it's a retrospective one. It's so natural to have a different attitude to manage the labour when the dilatation lasts a bit too long. If everything goes well you don't use epidural but if you have a stagnation you use it and then you say epidural is associated with a higher rate of CS. Association doesn't mean cause.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
