Re: abgs on cord?From: Larry Glazerman (glazerman@enter.net)Mon Dec 9 13:57:20 1996
>Oes anyone do abg's on newborn cords at the time of delivery? And if so, >why? > >Joe Stern >docjoe2855@aol.com At my hospital, we argue about this routinely. Some docs do arterial pH on every newborn. I take a sample of cord at every delivery, and by the time the episiotomy is sewn, etc., decide whether or not to send it.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
