Re: The less you know the betterFrom: John Robertson (jgmr@unixg.ubc.ca)Sat Nov 30 10:52:09 1996
There are not enough specialist to go around to be doing annual pap smears here. The family doc can do a pap smear almost as well as I can (atleast the ones who were properly trained sure can). On the other hand everyone who comes in to my practice gets asked when their last pap was, and gets one if it's been over a year. My practice is all referral, no low risk OB, no repeat OCP perscriptions, I couldn't see all the twins and menorrhagia if I did. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
