I don't think it matters what the trial lawyers think. If you follow either approach recommended by CDC and endorsed by ACOG, you should be fine. By the way, CDC recommends either doing cultures on everybody at 36 weeks and treating all positive patients in labor or treat anyone in the high risk category (preterm delivery, prolonged rupture of membranes beyond 18 hours, intrapartum fever, previous infant with group B strep disease, etc) with antibiotic.
