I have not used bipolar energy to remove fibroids via the hysteroscope. ACMI's Vaportrode electrode withe the resecoscope works quickly. I have done 4 cm Myomas in 10 minutes with only a 100 cc fluid loss. 1.5% Glycine is my distending fliud of choice. i use with the vaportrode 200w pure cutting current, and it melts the fibroid away. You have to be carefull not to touch the endometrium or the uterine wall or you can get perferation. With vaporization you seal the vessels and get very little bleeding or fluid absorbsion. This prevents hyponatermia and fluid overload, which has caused deaths. Myer

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
