not out of danger with regards to GBS infection in the baby(and mom should be told this), but in less danger of being called accountable for the whole thing by family and lawyer if infection does occur. Thats really why all this came to bear anyways. Remember the Trial Lawyers Association made their recommendations for GBS prevention. You can't tell me they were interested in preventing infection. IMHO I think they were trying to establish a standard of care to which most OB's would surely fall short of, thus making their job easier. That's really what all this is about. Mitch

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
