Re: beta strep screeningFrom: DoctorJoe@aol.comFri Nov 8 08:31:32 1996
<<Since we're discussing the new guidelines and GBS, what are ya'll doing for those women who are having (gasp!)planned sections without labor, and obviously with intact membranes, who are GBS positive? For clarification, I'm talking about term sections for breech, repeats, previous myomectomies, etc.>> It might be reasonable to "prophylax" those patients for MATERNAL indications, since they're carrying a known pathogen for postcesarean endometritis, which would then kill two birds with one dose... The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
