state regulations

Throughout my reading, I am constantly struck by the number of times I see the phrase "consult local and state regulations regarding the law and guidelines". I've seen this with regards to gestation allowed for termination, reporting of abuse, medico-legal consent, etc. Anybody have any idea where you find all this information without poring through the state law books. Would this be something readily available from my state medical association, District ACOG group. I know I will frequently ask my partners but would like the final authoritative language to refer to when needed.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
