Artificial RHIGFrom: Kenneth J. Moise (kmoise@bcm.tmc.edu)Sat Nov 2 20:33:11 1996
Malcolm, I understand that the National Blood Service has identified several monoclonal antibodies that can be used to prevent Rhesus alloimmunization. Unfortunatley, they are produced from EBV-transformed cell lines. The process is therefore questionable as to whether it will prove safe (non-carcinogenic in humans). In addition, it is a very inefficient production process and may actually be more expensive than human polyclonal serum. Ken Moise Baylor College of Medicine

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
