cervidil reinsertion

We have had a few cases of uterine hyperstimulation with cervidil and the cervidil was removed which corrected the problem and no adverse effects. Some physicians would like to reisert the same cervidil once the contraction pattern and FHR pattern is normal. My concern is how to keep the removed cervidil "clean" for reinsertion & what is the efficacy of the cervidil once it has been removed. Is anyone seeing this being done in their practice setting? Thank you in advance for any replys.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
