Danny, Micronized Progesterone is pure Progesterone but in a micronized form. It is not available in a capsule form put out by a Pharmaceutical COmpany but pharmacists are able to buy the chemical from thier wholesalers. Numerous pharmacies compound it into creams and some sell it in capsules containing 25, 50 or 100mg.

It is available in Mexico as Uterogestan by Schering. I think that it is 100 mg per capsule.

The PEPI study reported in JAMA, I think in January 1995 were suppleid Micronized progesterone by Schering even though it is still not yet on the market.

I believe that Malcolm Whitehead, who may still be at Kings, has performed studies on it. I suggest that you call him.

I hope that this helps.

Regards,

Peter

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
