ovarian cystsFrom: Esme J. Howard (ejh@octet.com)Sun Oct 27 17:12:23 1996
Dear List: Just a couple of questions re ovarian cysts: 1) would you feel comfortable diagnosing (definitively, not tentatively) on the basis of history and exam, no u/s? 2) any alternative treatment options (other than OCPs and surgery)? 3) do you agree that having one does not predispose to recurrences? (not speaking of polycystic ovaries here) if so, could anyone expand upon the pathophysiology that explains this? and/or cite some research that backs it up? thanks,
-- Esme J. Howard, CNM North Central Bronx Hospital, NY

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
