I appreciate that the health care systems on either side of "the pond" aren't the same. Over here certainly nurses and midwives aren't in awe of doctors. My responsibility/authority statement is **VERY** rarely used ( twice in last four years ). When I make it I make it clear that what I mean is "If everybody does what I say and things go wrong - it's my fault. If you don't do what I say then the patient, lawyers, judges, managers will blame you !" It's very powerful at focussing the senses of other professionals !

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
