But at this time it was longitudinal, with the head just over the pelvis. We didn't want to ARM because of the risk of cord prolapse. It wasn't possible to 'push' it down further.

I don't think she would have tolerated a further 10 days in hospital - in your experience do you think that the head may have engaged in this time if it hadn't up until now?

Anyway, we put in a 1mg PGE2 gel and left her for 6 hours. She had some contractions, but when she was re-examined later it was now oblique breech!!

At c/s we stabilised the lie to longitudinal, I opened the uterus with the membranes intact and grabbed the foot.
