Re: genetic testing for AMAFrom: charlie chambers (cchamber@ic.owatonna.mn.us)Tue Oct 15 17:58:02 1996
Testing in maternal blood for fetal cells is still in it's relative infancy. Mostly relegated to multi-center NIH trials. Primarily, FISH probes for trisomies, sex determination, i.e. mutation directed analysis. Unless chromosome painting can be performed reliably, would be difficult for generalized testing for any and all aneupleudies. Hopefully, some day, that may be a reality.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
