The volume requested was quite large and involved the use of three 20cc syringes. We use a single 60 cc syringe and an 18 ga. needle. After clamping and cutting the cord, lower the cord below the maternal abdomen, clean the site with betadine, and insert the needle into the vein, aspirate and it flows out as fast as you can pull on the plunger.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
