Good question. You say she is not an apparent threat to herself or others, yet she's had two children taken away from her by Child Protection. So my question would be, "Is there anything different about this lady NOW THAT SHE'S PREGNANT?"

In other words, while nonpregnant, she may have been okay - not a threat. But she WAS apparently a threat to her children, I suspect more by neglect rather than active harm. So now that she's pregnant, is there a case to be made for "fetal neglect" that might need to be addressed by the authorities? The fact that she refuses prenatal care type testing gives you some hint...

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
