Well, you're probably right, but only to a certain extent. If she chooses amnio and miscarries then whatever the cause, she will consider herself at fault.

Good point. She probably would be sensitized to that without me reminding her. However, I can't recall offhand someone returning for an amnio after miscarrying after a prior amnio. Possibly because once bitten, twice shy. But if she did return my present thought is to suggest there may be an increased risk, but I would hedge because we can't know whether the miss would have occured anyway.

A supplemental question: what do you quote as the background miscarriage rate at 16 weeks? We quote 1/50, but I've often thought that this might be too high.
