Re: P elvic PainFrom: R. Daniel Braun (rBraun@IUNET.IUPUI.EDU)Wed Jul 31 15:55:10 1996
Would be interested to hear the theory behind this, but if it works why not! The theory reported to me (I won't take any credit or blame) is that the pelvic congestion is caused by the patient repeatedly reaching the plateau phase of sexual response without ever reaching orgasm. The person who "taught" me this likened it to a case of the "Stoney aches" in a male. ?????????????????????? It has seemed to help in some patients and in my experience has not led to any complications. I can see where it could possibly lead to some marital discord in some cases, but don't know of any yet.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
