Perhaps, but efficiency is the watchword in today's system. Do you take time off of work to paint your house/work on your car/do yardwork, or do you hire it done?

(For what it's worth, I made the explicit decision long ago that I would be a more balanced individual if I did most of my own work around the home and became a less well compensated rural generalist, but that does not make the line of reasoning any less valid. It is much more efficient <and safer> to let the plumber do the plumbing. It is not nearly so efficient to pay him $75 an hour to clean up after himself after the drain is fixed.)

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
