In France beta-mimetics are used in first intention. Few praticians have real experience of MgSO4 in this indication (it is used here only to treat eclampsia). Beta-mimetics are used in accute pre-term labor. In the first 24 hours, 5 to 15 mg per day, iv perfusion, in clinique or hospital, After, tocography drive the dosis. The use is to reduce, keeping iv 3-4 days and relay with suppositories or tablets. To prevent tachycardy, verapamil is added to perfusion, or natisedine(phenobarbitural de quinidine). Cordilament. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
