Re: New HCFA guidelines for teaching physiciansFrom: ATB28@aol.comSat Jul 13 17:26:02 1996
In a message dated 96-07-13 16:35:39 EDT, you write:
<< Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding that the "new"
rules (HCFA Update of IL-372 Guidelines ?) referred to in the first post
apply to Medicare Part B
and not to Medicaid. If so, they would only rarely come into play in
obstetrics.
>> At present you are correct, the regulation applies to Medicare only. Ultimately, Medicaid will follow suit and we in New York are planning accordingly. ATB

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
