Obstetrics is the branch of medicine that deals with human birth. It has been considered to be the primal and the most ancient medical art. Gynecology is the study and management of diseases affecting human female organ system. There are now many OBGYN related websites & listservers, both national & international in the Internet. As Internet continues to grow quickly, more and more professionals, researchers & paraprofessionals involved with the medical discipline of obstetrics & gynecology are appearing online in Usenet. The sci.med.obgyn newsgroup will serve to enhance networking, education and information dissemination on OBGYN matters among the OBGYN community, related professionals and interested public. The sci.med.obgyn will also complement the sci.med.midwifery newsgroup which caters mainly to midwives. CHARTER: sci.med.obgyn This moderated news group will be used for the discussion of Obstetric & Gynecology / Gynaecology ( OBGYN / O&G ) and related issues. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
