I didn't want to take up list time and resources for communications about this, but since you sent your question to everyone, I'll respond likewise, then please, let's keep this as personal e-mail in respect of those who are not interested in this project. :-)

Legitimate question -- and, the answer is -- you don't. As in all areas of dealing with "strangers", caution is the best policy, so either 1) don't take it or 2) run a virus checker on it.

A secondary note -- some folks on the list have already received and opened it w/o disaster, maybe they'd be willing to reassure you. Also, most e-mail viruses I've read about come as .exe attachments (which I originally tried to do, in the form of a self-extracting zip), but it a) wasn't working and b) wasn't necessary, so now it's just a simple file attachment.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
