thanks for your reply. did not mean to offend.. I have been off the list a while and I thought you were a doc. not sure though. I have been on forums on compuserve as an example where individuals will ask questions about "what if you had a case that...." and then they would ask if it is malpractice and on and on and find out through the dialogue that it was an attorney for the plaintiff in a court case somewhat misrepresenting themselves.. it annoys me is all.

<not being up front>. ... and misleading on the intention and desire of the communication.

it's a drag to be on guard all the time but that is the nature of the real world in obgyn in the states. I like to practice medicine .. i "refuse" to practice law but lawsuits take a lot out of your family..self.. and they take years for you to get a chance to presents the facts and your case ..I had a case that went to court after five years..the case was to the point and only lasted 3 days and I won handily <and I should have>. but the sleepless nights..the challenge to your integrity and competence and the threat to license and livelihood..the toll on the wife <spouse> as they support you gets to be a heavy weight.

you are correct on litigant..I make up my own words when I have had less than 4 hours sleep over two days.. :) :)

good luck with your research.

Mark

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
