The use in antenatal patients with PROM and oligohydramnion appeared limited. Recently, we had a patient with PPROM since 20 weeks of gestation with AFI of 3 who agreed to amnioinfusion at 26 weeks. About 150ml of normal saline with antibiotic (cefoperazone)was infused improving the AFI to 5. She had no contractions post infusion but the leaking persisted. I would like opinions regarding antenatal amnioinfusion and advise. Thank you. DR SPNG.MY

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
