No ruptures had been reported last I looked and infections, as you say, do not seem to be an issue. But there are case reports of maternal deaths, probably caused by amniotic embolism. The mechanism would be forced entry of amniotic debris into uterine veins by the raised pressure, possibly in combination with an unfortunate position of the catheter.
