20w previa/PPROMFrom: STEWART PRINGLE (100724.2333@CompuServe.COM)Mon Jul 1 21:22:51 1996
Ashley, I recognise the situation you're describing but I always thought that placenta previa didn't exist by definition until the lower segment was formed ie later than 20 w. I think a vaginal scan is an excellent idea to clarify the situation and can't carry much risk. I agree with the others that conservative management or vaginal Pg (mifepristone first?) would be appropriate. What's the earliest gestation at which anyone on the list has to do a section for genuine previa anyway (maternal not fetal reasons)?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
