There has been much interest in learning more about TTTS recently on the list. I want to direct the list to a http://www page that has information from the TTTS Foundation. We work with patients on a daily basis receiving about 8-10 calls a day plus numerous letters from families currently and after a pregnancy with TTTS. It is very common for patients to have a discrepency suddenly when several gestational weeks earlier it was not of concern. We also deal with many patients who go through their entire twin pregnancy without any problems, only to loose both babies to acute TTTS at delivery or toward the end of the pregnancy. The medical community must always look at a monchorionic, diamniotic pregnancy that TTTS very well may happen. Too many of our calls come from parents whose doctors told to terminate. There is absolutely no reason to do this. There are new treatments which are saving the babies. Diagnosed midway through a pregnancy, TTTS is very severe, but there is still hope. We have helped to save many babies who otherwise would have died. I encourage all interest, to please read our http://www page and contact the TTTS Foundation for up-to-date information and to learn how this organization can help you in your experiences with TTTS.

Sincerely,

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
