Re: How to induce??Whether to induce??From: R. Daniel Braun (rBraun@IUNET.IUPUI.EDU)Tue Jun 25 16:09:23 1996
I am aware of one maternal death secondary to clostridial infection associated with the use of this technique. I would suggest having a few studies with large numbers done before jumping on the bandwagon.

There's a doc in our area who swears by it. Takes a 30cc foley, inserts it into the cervix, fills it with 35cc of fluid and says that they "all" are 3-4 cm in 5-6 hours. Haven't tried it myself but am wanting to do so. Give it a try and let us know. Mitch Nudelman MD FACOG Bellevue, WA

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
