Re: Urinary retention and MgSO4From: David Nagey (dnagey@c3p0.ab.umd.edu)Tue Jun 18 08:33:56 1996
In response to Rich Lowensohn's question re MgSO4 and urinary retention - we have seen it exactly once in several hundred patients treated aggressively for preterm labor - it resolved spontaneously and we never determined its etiology - total duration (if memory serves) was 12 hours - a very LONG 12 hours. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
