Breastfeeding questionsFrom: Lynn D. Montgomery (apgar10@ionet.net)Tue Jun 11 16:55:10 1996
I would appreciate any help that y'all could offer me with the following breastfeeding questions: 1. Does anybody have any insight into the ability of a patient with "streak ovaries" to breastfeed following delivery. This patient has had total exogenous estrogen support prior to conception and conceived via donor, being supported through the first trimester with exogenous hormonal therapy. 2. Does anybody have knowledge of patients with triplets breastfeeding. I know that many pediatricians discourage breastfeeding twins, but I have had several moms do just fine. I have advised the patient that it really depends somewhat on her supply, but if the demand is demonstrated the supply should be there. Any comments? Finally, does anybody have the resource for the support groups for multiple pregnancies. I know that they are out there, I just need their addresses. Thanks for your help. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
