DJ-I agree about what you said-I am a certified midwife and have been trained by a very experienced midwife who was trained by a very experienced old doctor to deliver vaginal breeches. The only thing is there is a very important factor and that is a risk assessment scoring. If she doesn't meet the right score she isn't a good candidate for a vaginal breech and she gets sent to a doc for a c/sec. The difference between just automatically sectioning is that the women we send for sections know and have it explained to them why they need a section. And that is only after an external versio9n has been attempted, too. I think it is time for docs to be trained in vaginal breech delivery again. Lisa-MI

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
