I have used this in some patients with good results. The two most common problems I see are spotting (probably due to endometrial atrophy similar to spotting seen with Depo-Provera or Norplant), and weight gain (probably due to the progesterone dominance of OCPs). The spotting can be fixed with a course of estrogen, but I haven't figured out how to fix the weight gain (in *myself* or my patients)!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
