Re: BREECH DELIVERIES AND LITIGATIONFrom: DoctorJoe@aol.comMon Jun 3 08:41:16 1996
<<I do not want to start naming names of plaintiff's experts on this international list, but some of the names I have seen are surprising. One need only to go through the advertisements in the legal journals so see how many physicians are begging to be named as experts in litigation.>> I too was amazed not long ago to find out that there are companies which keep doctors on a list to supply to plaintiffs' attornies. One guy (I read a line of questioning in a deposition) admitted that the money he was paid went TO THE COMPANY, and he was basically paid a per diem salary... And when you read the way these guys talk and answer questions, they are OBVIOUSLY very 'expert' at giving expert testimony. I wasn't particularly impressed that the MEDICAL portion of this guy's testimony was all that expert, but he certainly did come across as REALLY SLICK AND EXPERIENCED. ************************************************* doctorjoe@aol.com "All things are connected. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
