As a matter of facts there are more groups in the US funded by NICHD for the isolation of fetal cells in maternal blood for prenatal diagnosis: Baylor CM (Sherman Elias as PI), Jefferson MC, Tufts University/New England MC (Diana Bianchi as PI), Wayne State University/Basel (Mark Evans as PI), and Integrated Genetics, Framingham, MA (Klinger as PI). At this stage of the study, I doubt that any groups will share in some details their results & techniques before the end of the study due to October 1997.

In Europe, apart from the Basel group (Holzgreve, Gänshirt-Ahlert), there are major groups in Helsinki, Nottingham (L.Durand & D. Liu), Leeds (D. Miller) although studies have been done in other centers including ours.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
