Re: Midwifery/Ob-Gyn EthcsFrom: DoctorJoe@aol.comWed May 29 08:03:12 1996
<<I'm carrying out some research into ethics during child-bearing, but not being a health professional (I'm a Philosopher/Ethicist, if I want to describe myself as anything!) I'm not sure what the current debates *are*...>> There is ample literature of late in the US about obstetric ethics. Most of it centers around the autonomy-beneficence arguments with respect to the obstetrician's care of a pregnant woman. If you do a literature search on Frank Chervenak (in New York) you'll have a real good 'hook' on the topic. Pull a couple of his papers and you can see where the references lead you. You'll be busy for a while. ************************************************* doctorjoe@aol.com "All things are connected. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
