Inquiry about the possibility of losing the Cochrane CCPC (message from Michael Wolkimir several days ago) produced the following information. I don't know Mr Starr but I have every reason to believe it to be accurate.

Hi, YES/NO... the CCPC will no longer be issued as a separate title. Instead, the Cochrane reviews in pregnancy and childbirth will be made available through a new publication called The Cochrane Library. The Cochrane Library is issued quarterly and contains four main databases: 1. Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR) 2. Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness (DARE) 3. Cochrane Controlled Trials Register (CCTR) 4. Cochrane Review Methodology Database (CRMD)

ALL COCHRANE REVIEWS PRODUCED BY THE COCHRANE PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH GROUP ARE CONTAINED IN THE NEW COCHRANE LIBRARY!! In addition reviews from other specialty areas such as subfertility and neonatal care.

Through The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews you will have access to all the up-to-date reviews in pregnancy and childbirth, and through The Cochrane Controlled Trials Register you will have access to all the citations inthe Pregnancy and Childbirth Group's specialised register. The Cochrane Library also offers and improved interface, new search facilities and the ability to produce well-formatted printouts.

If your subscription to CCPC has been renewed with a distributor, you will automatically receive The Cochrane Library in July, and then quarterly thereafter until your subscription expires.

Please note though, The Cochrane Library is available only for MS Windows, on CD ROM and Disk. The DOS version is no longer being produced and a MAC version will be completed towards the end of the year.

CCPC is still very much with us, but now with more information inside The Cochrane Library.

Regards, Ted >>

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
