I believe that this is a significantly high number and would keep a lot of people from prosecuting the culprits behind their fatal addiction. We use counseling and prevention codes to some degree, but they cannot be associated with nicotine addiction, rather the prevention of heart and lung disease.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
