Buck" <dsbuck@magnum.wpe.com> Subject: Ca channel blockers for PTL Does anyone have an understanding of why there is disagreement between the Cochrane Database and a recent review of the literature(Ray D & Dyson D; Clin OB & GYN; Vol 38(4);Dec 1995: 713-721) on Calcium channel blockers(CCBs) for PTL? The recent review reveals "nifedipine is at least as effective as ritodrine, terbualine or MgSO4" whereas Cochrane puts nifedipine more an equal to placebo. David S. Buck, MD, MPH

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
