J Perinatol 16(1):27, 1996. They have positive things to say about cerclage for this reason at 21 weeks or above. Personally, the difficulty you had with the Macdonald is one reason I use a modified Shirodkar in these situation... no through and through stitching, so less chance of ROM and less cervical trauma. Joe P. P.S. Obviously, Dr. Weinstein (of HELLP fame) is big into new abbreviations. I think it's cool. We have to stay one step ahead of our students and residents...

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
