I did mean IM, not PO. However the usual >doing interval around here is 12 hours, not 24; and it is usually 12 mg. Does anyone have a rational explanation for the route and timing of the steriod reccommendations by the NIH? Consider the following... 1. Oral or IV achieve higher serum levels than IM injection. 2. Long biological half-life ( 36-72 hours). (Goodman & Gilman 8th ed) Just interested in other list members thoughts. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
