If the patient keeps smoking, why are you witholding estrogen replacement therapy ?? I know of no study showing a problem. The only studies are with Oral contraceptives and smoking in the over 35 y/o woman. Oral contraceptives and ERT are two totally different things and do not have the same side effects and/or complications.
