Re: need help with weird case. From: Douglas Krell (sfth@roadrunner.com)Sun Apr 28 22:26:22 1996
Mark, I have a patient with a nearly identical story from the standpoint of surgical history. Late 20's. Vaginal hyst for pain/mild prolapse. Laparoscopy 2wks later for trapped epiploic fat. Now complains of intermittant vaginal bleeding that cannot be documented. My patient even has a psychiatric history (though its more depression than neurosis). I have looked twice and cannot document any heme. Stools guiac neg. No internal hemmorhoids on anoscopy. Pelvic exam completely normal. I've asked her to bring in a tampon with blood...she has yet to do this. If I find anything definitive, I'll let you know. My patient did not have endometriosis. Maybe we should have these 2 patients exchange email addresses. regards, Doug Krell MD sfth@roadrunner.com

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
