There was a concensus meeting (NIH, 1994), if I remember right. So far I know this is best metaanalysis concerning steroids and premature labour up to know. It steroids from the 24. to the 34. week of pregnancy. Steroids are said to decrease the degree of intraventicular haemorhage and RDS even in the very early weeks. Beyond the 34. week steroids are not recommended.

But even it is shorter steroids are recommended. You can get the full-text of the mentioned document over the net. If you don't have access, contact me. Volker

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
