Dear Enzo,

Our hospital guidelines, as well as those from ACOG suggest that no more than 30 minutes should pass from the time a Cesarean is decided upon until its execution has begun. In some emergencies we have acted much faster, ie...cord prolapse, uterine rupture, placental abruption. We very much encourage people to be available to the hospital within that 30 minute time window.

yours truly,

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
