I do not think its that simple. We do about 100 epidurals a month and the anesthesiologists use the same technique and solutions. We see one or two maternal temps with no other reason than epidural placement or labor or whatever that resolve without any intervention within 8-12 hours of delivery. We work them up minimally in labor (beta strep etc) but do not get terribly aggressive with big gun antibiobics unless they persist over 12 hours or go really high. Mary in Nebraska
