Re: 36 weeks and creat increasingFrom: J J Walker (msjjjw@gps.leeds.ac.uk)Mon Apr 1 08:32:09 1996
A normal creatinine a few weeks ago does not exclude renal disease. I have seen several woemn go into acute renal failure after delivery with these paramters. Urine output not a good judge of this. A CC of 75 is about half what you would expect in a pregnant woman. The fact that the platelets are not that bad and the liver enzymes are normal (these are not units I am familiar with so correct me if I am wrong) suggests that this is NOT preeclampsia. I will be interested in the outcome. In a recent case it took 2 weeks for the creatinine to return to normal but I have also seen complete failure. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
