Refusing to pay for GTTFrom: CNMPAT@aol.comSun Mar 31 08:36:58 1996
If the insurance refuses to pay for a 3 HR GTT for the diagnosis of diabetes, what do they propose instead? FBS and 2 hour PP ? Of course the issue is what is the "insurance accepted" procedure for the diagnosis of GD? We shall soon also be dealing with this ourselves, I am sure, in WA state. Are they proposing everyone with an elevated ! hr Glucola be considered a GD? THAT would be less cost effective. I would like to see where this goes. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
