I want to inform the interested subscribers of the list about the case I have mentioned 3 weeks ago. She was a patient who had a vag. hysterectomy + anteroposterior colporraphy about 6 months ago and came with significant difficulty in coitus. I had longitidunally incised the fibrotic ring just behind the hymenal remnants at 2, 6 and 10 o'clock suturing them in a transverse manner using 4/0 vicryl. She was prescribed premarin, called back for a visit the following week, when she was taught self-digital examination using topical estrogen, aswell. I had the opportunity to see her again on Friday afternoon when she told about her first post-operative coitus attempt: a successful trial! She admitted that it was better than she had expected. On pelvic examination, the suture materials were still being absorbed and still being a thread for fibrosis. I recommended her to continue topical + systemic estrogens for one more month and to come back for a visit then. Thanks to everyone having a comment about the case for sharing their valuable experiences with me.
