I want to inform the interested subscribers of the list about the case I have mentioned 3 weeks ago. She was a patient who had a vag. hysterectomy + anteroposterior colporraphy about 6 months ago and came with significant difficulty in coitus. I had longitidunally incised the fibrotic ring just behind the hymenal remnants at 2, 6 and 10 o'clock suturing them in a transverse manner using 4/0 vicryl. She was prescribed premarin, called back for a visit the following week, when she was taught self-digital examination using topical estrogen, aswell. I had the opportunity to see her again on Friday afternoon when she told about her first post-operative coitus attempt: a successful trial! She admitted that it was better than she had expected. On pelvic examination, the suture materials were still being absorbed and still being a thread for fibrosis. I recommended her to continue topical + systemic estrogens for one more month and to come back for a visit then. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
